Museum of the Environment is the museum of the future.

Help us combat climate change.

About Us

Peter Gwizdala. Co-Founder

Peter has spent many years campaigning for the environment. His first campaign, in 1989, was PARC (People Against the River Crossing), formed to oppose a proposed “cut and cover” tunnel that would have destroyed ancient woodland in Oxleas Woods in South East London.

That early experience showed him the impact that simple, direct action can have in protecting the environment. The proposed tunnel has never been built, and the woodland remains standing today.

Our Mission….

is to be a meeting point where ideas can be exchanged in order to improve our environment in its many varied forms – home, work, the outdoors, our gardens, parks and pavements, our roads, transportation systems, farming, food production, schools and educational establishments and so much more

We are inclusive, non-discriminatory, diverse, accepting, tolerant, open minded and curious.

We are a hub and hive of information, linkages, collaborations, networks, knowledge and experience exchanges.

We look forward not backwards. The past has happened and can’t be changed but we can change the future.

We are not a traditional museum with exhibits (yet) but a place to nourish ideas to improve the future, a place to learn and connect. We are a venue where the museum comes to you either in our beautiful, iconic base, Arlingtons on Museum Street in Ipswich or as part of our outreach program coming to your school, community group or place of work.

Our mission is to be here for you and your future.
